Roast Pork Dinner

A Roast Pork Dinner will be held at Good Shepherd Parish, 27 Teller St., Amsterdam, NY on Saturday, February 20th from 4-7pm. The dinner features the Parish’s famous Roast Pork with mashed potatoes, carrots or beets, soup, and dessert. Dinner tickets are $10.50 per person, children 5-12 $5, and children under 5 free. For advance ticket sales please call 518-842-3241.

I highly recommend this dinner. I’ve eaten-in and had their Polish take-out. They are amazing cooks and a really great Parish family.

General dancing begins at 7pm with music selections by Gary Burgess. At 8:30 pm, Thomas and Katherine Hourigan will dance a ‘Slow Waltz.’ Cost: $10 includes the lesson.

At St. Stanislaus Cathedral and School, Scranton, PA

Two charitable food programs are upcoming.

The St. Stanislaus free hot meal program will host a free hot meal, Saturday, February 6 from 2-4 p.m., at the St. Stanislaus Youth Center, 530 E. Elm Street, Scranton. Call 570-343-6017 for more information.

A soup sale for Haiti will take place on Sunday, February 7 from 10-11 a.m. The soup sale will offer tomato-basil soup with the proceeds benefitting relief efforts in Haiti. Polish Buffet at BVMC, Latham, NY

BVMC kitchen is serving a Polish/American Buffet on Friday, February 5th from 4 – 7:30 PM. The buffet is $15 all you can eat, children 6-12 $6; under 5 free. The buffet includes:

Gołąbki, bigos, potato pancakes w/applesauce or sour cream, kluski, kielbasa w/sauerkraut, potato & cheese or kraut pierogi. Also available are baked ziti w/meatballs, eggplant parmesan, tossed salad, Italian and Rye bread. Desserts: chocolate cake, bread pudding, tapioca pudding. Hot Coffee and Tea. BVMC will also be selling frozen Polish food.

Lenten Pierogi Sale, Plymouth, PA

Lenten Pierogi Sale at Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church, 269 E. Main St. Plymouth. Potato with sharp cheese and potato with jalapeno peppers pierogies will be sold Sunday and Feb. 21, and March 7. Cost is $7/dozen. Farmer’s cheese pierogies will be sold only on March 21 at $9/dozen. Farmer’s cheese orders are due by Feb. 28. Please call 570-779-4781 to place all orders.

Traditional Opłatek at the Albany PCC

The Albany Polish Community Center will be holding a traditional Polish Opłatek on Saturday January 16, 2010 at 6 pm. The PCC is located at 225 Washington Ave Ext, Albany NY 12205.

Tickets are $12 per person/kids 12 and under are free and includes dinner, singing of Polish carols and a Polish Holiday atmosphere!

The Polish Community Center in Albany will be hosting its regular Polish-American buffet on Friday, January 8th from 4-8pm. The PCC is located at 225 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany NY 12205. Call 518-456-3995 for more information.

The Polish National Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity and Saint Joseph in Linden, NJ will conduct its annual Christmas Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 10, in the parish center at 407 Ziegler Avenue in Linden. Prior to the dinner, homemade Polish delicacies will be served as appetizers. Cost of the complete dinner is $15. The dinner will begin at noon following the 11:00 a.m. Polish Mass. Take out orders will be available. During the dinner the parish children will present a Christmas pageant. Reservations for the dinner and take out orders are encouraged and can be made by calling 908-925-6537.

Pierogi Sale in Plymouth, PA

From the Times Leader: Pierogi Sale 5-6 p.m. Sunday, November 29th and Sunday, December 13th at Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church, 269 E. Main St., Plymouth, PA. Varieties include potato with cheese and potato with jalapeno peppers. Cost is $7 per dozen. Pickup orders at 5 p.m. in the church auditorium.
